During 2021-22, Yankee Girl has undegone extensive upgrades at Safe Harbor Dauntless, one of New England’s premier yards, being kept in inside heated winter storage. She has a most attractive Helm Deck, richly finished with varnished wood, a classic Herreshoff style white bead-board headliner, with varnished grab rail and an elegant new teak Hi-Lo table. Further upgrades including new electronics and portlights, were completed in 2023.
The Eastern 31 is a capable New England boat, with excellent sea-keeping, a semi-displacement hull with graceful sheer, hard chines, and a long prop-protecting keel. Over 450 have been built.
